I've set up a ton of GTA units on SBC DSL Static lines, but in all cases
the DSL was delivered with a netopia which was routing the connection.
I am upgrading a customer's DSL to static and do not currently have the
netopia. In order to get the IP assignments I have to convert the
SpeedStream 5100 to bridge mode and enable the PPPoE client on the
firewall. I've researched PPPoE clients a bit on the net, particularly
related to FreeBSD, and it appears that if I do this the server will
hand down all of the IP addresses to the firewall. Will the GB-Ware
(4.0) receive and allow me to use all of the IP's assigned via the PPPoE
client? Will they appear as interfaces just as if I had added them as
aliases? I am about to give up and just order a Netopia from Bell, but
I'd like to give this a try in the meantime.
Anyone?
