Mike, I would start at the switch level instead. If you have a managed switch, you should be able to get that data for every physical port on the switch.
You can also read the error counters for the GB-Ware via the SNMP service, just as you would on a managed switch. In most cases where we monitored both a firewall and the switchport it was connected to, the error-counters from both sides were about the same.
