Hello Everyone,

A question was sent to me directly and I would like to reply to the group as well -

Version 5.2 and above is only available for the following firewalls.

GB-Ware
GB-250's
GB-800's
GB-2000 (Family)
GB-3000's

If you have a RoBoXR, GB-200, GB-500, GB-1000R, GB-1200 or GB-1500 and you feel you need features only available in v5.2 you can contact either our sales team or local channel partner in regards to the other possible options for your firewall. Please note that the RoBoXR uses the GB-200 OS and GB-1000R use the GB-1200 OS.

There is an EOL announcement located at http://www.gta.com/downloads/external/announcements/2008-06-25_01.pdf this has more information on the older units.

Regards,

David

Full release notes can be viewed at: http://www.gta.com/support/showReleaseNote/?id=116.

Important Upgrade Notice:

Re-sizing Slices and Runtime Upgrades
In order to support the new features in GB-OS 5.2, some firewalls may require partition re-sizing during the upgrade process. Upon re-sizing, both runtime slices will have GB-OS 5.2, and firewall administrators WILL NOT be able to revert to previous runtimes via the Console or Web interface.

GTA strongly recommends backing up current firewall configurations PRIOR to upgrading.

Firewalls requiring re-sized partitions will take approximately 5-8 minutes to reboot and fully update once the runtime has been applied. DO NOT switch off or reboot the firewall during this process.

For detailed information on the upgrade procedure, please refer to the GB-OS 5.2 User's Guide or visit http://www.gta.com/support/upgrade/.

GB-OS 5.2 will be available via automatic upgrade feature for GTA Firewall UTM systems running GB-OS 5.0 or higher, or via download from the GTA Online Support Center that are covered by a current maintenance or support contract. If you have any questions or concerns, please email GTA Sales, [email protected] or Support, [email protected].

Regards,

David
