Putting #define FRAME_POINTER_CFA_OFFSET(FNDECL) 0 as indicated in that patch, into config/avr.h seems to work, but it is also necessary to specify --disable-libssp to configure. Perhaps libssp should by default be disabled for avr targets? -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=26504
