I didn't post the Linux output for the C testcase, but I was seeing either segmentation faults after a long wait or (occasionally) "virtual memory exhausted" errors, instead of the explicit fold-const ICE that resulted on an Intel Mac. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=28411
