The problem is that operator interfaces is a part of gfortran that I have rarely touched and I do not know my way around. They have namespaces that do not have very much of anything attached to them, as far as I can see. That's why the simple fix causes a segfault. However, I cannot quite see how the symbols for the arguments are attached to the namespace. I'll be with you as soon as I have a solution - < 24hours now.
