With checking we get a different ICE:
t1.cc: In function ‘void f()’:
t1.cc:3: error: statement makes a memory store, but has no V_MAY_DEFS nor
V_MUST_DEFS
VIEW_CONVERT_EXPR<union __v4F>(b_1).a[1] = 1.0e+0;
t1.cc:3: internal compiler error: verify_ssa failed
