I see. The problem is that, in 4_1-branch and 4_0-branch the case "${host_cpu}"
switch in configure.host lacks the appropriate entries for alpha, powerpc and
sparc. That is a separate, rather serious, bug, in my opinion, which should be
fixed at least in 4_1-branch. I mean to do that, barring contrary opinions.
