The installed libtool files libstdc++.la and libsupc++.la still refer to the build tree (as they do since at least gcc-3.2.3).
Apart from being extremely ugly, this may cause unpleasant delays or even errors, e.g., due to stale NFS filehandles. I think this is either due to improper libtool usage, or your libtool Version "1.4a-GCC3.0 (1.641.2.256 from 2001/05/28 20:09:07 with GCC-local changes)" is broken (it's almost 6 years old). -- Summary: installed libstdc++.la and libsupc++.la files refer to build tree Product: gcc Version: 4.1.2 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P3 Component: libstdc++ AssignedTo: unassigned at gcc dot gnu dot org ReportedBy: peb at mppmu dot mpg dot de GCC build triplet: x86_64-linux-gnu GCC host triplet: x86_64-linux-gnu GCC target triplet: x86_64-linux-gnu http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=30861
