Actually, I found that I couldn't compile anything with gcc or g++. Even the
codes I was compiling yesterday! Sheesh. So, I restarted. Everything is fine
now in the garden of squirrel. Please close/delete this bug as necessary. 

Um, for future reference, should I change the resolution?
