With 4.2 finally released, I think it is time to let 4.1 go. If gfortran follows the GCC development rules, then this would need to be a fix for a regression in 4.1. I'll leave to Thomas to close the bug. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=31196
