I don't think so, since this PR is a regression. Anyway, I'll take a look at
them both together.... in a few days. I'm still not entirely back in action
after my move to Barcelona and the theft of my laptop; in particular, I still
do not have a working tree that I can use for debugging.
As soon as posssible.... honest!
