Unfortunately it doesn't work: the caller calls the (name of the) cloned function, but I don't see the cloned function in the generated assembly code, at least for gcc.c-torture/execute/931018-1.c at -O3. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=37315
