I was able to reproduce the problem in a recent development version of GCC, prior to Honza's patch, but not in my installed version of GCC 4.3.1, which is why I asked you to confirm that the patch fixes the problem for you. GCC 4.3.2 fixes numerous bugs over GCC 4.3.1, although not necessarily ICEs that affect you. I would recommend using a patched version of GCC 4.3.2 over a patched version of GCC 4.3.1, but that is your decision.
