The runtime failure has changed and no longer is complaining about ABI versions on AIX. As I mentioned, I will be interested to learn from Dave's results this new runtime problem is AIX-specific or common to the other platforms. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=37068
