The code compiles cleanly with XLF. If I switch the commented lines in the CLASS DEFAULT clause, it compiles cleanly (but I am not sure about the runtime behaviour, as I have seen other problems down the road in the original application). -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=45439
