Let's rerecategorize this, then. David, I think it's perfectly fine adjusting
also the generic code as part of resolving this PR (thus mentioning it in the
ChangeLog entry) without actually closing it (which will happen when the target
bits will be committed too). And yes, a testcase for that would be great.
