Yes, I believe it's the same problem and the patch fixes it for me. I have updated the patch with this testcase [slightly modified to avoid including a standard library header] and I will attach it to this bug right away. I don't commit right now b/c I am on the road with a jumpy connectivity. Btw, the patch got accepted at http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2010-10/msg02387.html. I still need to test it against the branches and commit it there if the tests succeed.
