No, sorry. Checking this would require manually recompiling libgcc with -ffunction-sections and trying it out on my projects. Since I haven't compiled gcc in quite a long time and have forgotten all the tricks for doing it, this will be a lot of work. So, if you say you already do all you can to minimize what is linked in from there, I'll take your word for it.
