They should be distributing a supported version too. I suspect this is an ARM issue. The problem does not occur with GCC 4.3.2, 4.7.0 (x86) and 4.8.0 (x64) I was unable to build GCC on the Raspberry Pi so I cant (yet) test 4.6.4. Note the problem happens with -O3 and not -O2.
