My stage0 compiler is 4.9.2 (not Apple-patched 4.2.1). I also mentioned its "-v
output" in above comment. But I doubt it is related to host compiler...

This is happening on stage2, and
$ prev-gcc/build/genmatch --gimple ../gcc-5.1.0/gcc/match.pd
works well.

It is
$ gcc/build/genmatch --gimple ../gcc-5.1.0/gcc/match.pd
that fails.
