It took me an entire afternoon shrinking my case down to the code provided in attachment, it was a needle in a huge haystack. I haven't been able to reduce the code further. Even tiny changes which seem completely unrelated make the bug disappear. It looks very much like a front-end bug. I am surprised there hasn't been any confirmation of the bug so far, and it has been resting in bugzilla 7 months so far, only with updates saying it's not a bug.
