Confirmed.  We're also expanding from

pod copy_pod(pod) (struct pod d)
{
  struct pod D.2314;

;;   basic block 2, loop depth 0
;;    pred:       ENTRY
  D.2314 = d;
  return D.2314;
;;    succ:       EXIT

}

which has one useless aggregate copy (somewhere we have a bug about not having
aggregate copy propagation).  The C++ FE emits
