--- Comment #6 from Arseny Solokha <asolokha at gmx dot com> ---
The compiler for SPE target is configured the following way:

% powerpc-e500v2-linux-gnuspe-gcc-8.0.0-alpha20170702 -v
Using built-in specs.
COLLECT_GCC=powerpc-e500v2-linux-gnuspe-gcc-8.0.0-alpha20170702

gcc version 8.0.0-alpha20170702 20170702 (experimental) (GCC)

It ICEs as described in comment 0, on the testcase from comment 0, w/ options
from comment 0.

On the other hand, another similarly built compiler for 32-bit BE powerpc
non-SPE target builds this testcase just fine after r249924:

% powerpc-e300c3-linux-gnu-gcc-8.0.0-alpha20170702 -v
Using built-in specs.

gcc version 8.0.0-alpha20170702 20170702 (experimental) (GCC)

In both cases r249924 was applied on top of the vanilla 8.0.0-alpha20170702
snapshot.

Maybe there's some combination of options which would yield ICE on non-SPE
target, but I haven't discovered it yet.
