I attempted to reproduce using the issues described in comment #0, comment #3
and comment #4 (using r266145, fwiw).
The only one I was able to reproduce was the final one in comment #4, for which
I saw a different backtrace to the ones in comment #0 and comment #3.
The patch in comment #5 should address the two backtraces; see:

Does it fix things for you, or are you still seeing assertion failures inside
the dump API?
