I was just trying to suggest a change which I think is better for the consistency with the standard and with clang which just implemented this change. So yes I agree with you it's definitely not a bug, and no I am not writing such __cplusplus == X checks for real, I know I should use __cplusplus >= X or even better use SD-6 macros. It's definitely not the first time you complain I open bugs which aren't bugs. However I see other gcc contributors use this ticket system to also track things like "change requests", "feature requests", or "enhancement". I also know in that case the change should be trivial enough so that I could actually submit the patch myself, however I am still trying to find a legal agreement that would suit both my employer and the FSF (wrt copyright assignment). So what do you suggest I do in that case ? Open a bug ? Start a discussion on the gcc mailing list ?
