Just FYI, I built binutils master to check if the issue also exists with the v2 plugin interface. One previously failing testcase now PASSes with gld 2.34.50. I'm now running full bootstraps on both sparc-sun-solaris2.11 and i386-pc-solaris2.11 with that gld. This wouldn't be a solution, of course, just an additional datapoint.
