Tried that now and I don't see any slowdown in between gcc 4.4 branchpoint -
tried r145106 in particular - and r217669 when using the 4.4 preprocessed
source, so I bet but can't prove easily is that it is the r203035 changes which
are essential for the other PR. So marking as fixed in GCC 11.
