Is it possible to extend that to 2GB? ISTR that linux on 32bit platforms had a 1GB userland virtual memory setup at some point (and maybe for some platforms). In theory it's possible to backport the split of the gimple-match.cc TUs. Can you try current mainline to see if that's enough to pass native bootstrap in qemu?
