--- Comment #4 from David Edelsohn <dje at gcc dot gnu.org> --- rs6000-ibm-aix doesn't exist anymore. This should have been configured as powerpc-ibm-aix7.2 . Maybe there is some magic about the "powerpc" name? Those variables are provided by generated files and apparently something is not generating them when building a cross compiler.
