This regression is confirmed.
I instrumented the chunk that generated the wrapper call, implemented by Chris,
and, as I suspected, it is not touched by your testcase. Also, the derived
types in your testcase are not recursive and so, if I have understood
correctly, it should not have been touched.
If you want to test this, revert Chris's patch and try again.
