The last posted version had a bug that crept in during the review cycle, and which made it quite ineffective. Find this block /* As a special case, check for jumps to the last bb that cannot successfully be converted to simple_returns later on, and mark them as requiring a frame. These are conditional jumps that jump to their fallthru block, so it's not a case that is expected to occur often. */ and replace "condjump_p" in the if statement with "any_condjump_p". There'll be further patches which increase the number of shrink-wrapping opportunities we get to see. One of them was submitted earlier: http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2011-03/msg01499.html http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2011-03/msg02191.html Bernd
