FWIW, one could easily argue this should be a standard step in our
process to work towards a release. The only question in my mind
would be timing, end of stage1 or start of stage3 seem the most

Full ACK. I plan to keep my comparison script running.
However, I'm not too sure if I'd like to commit /now/.
First, there was a recent patch, so I need to rebase. And second,
I'm a bit late I think. I'm not 100% sure I won't break anything. And
in stage3, that's probably not the very best starting point for such a
patch?
It's pretty isolated stuff (in terms of what clauses are being changed
in the configure bits), so I'm not too worried about breaking anything.
We can reach out to Joel to ensure the RTEMS bits are correct and
those were, IMHO, the most important.
I think we're early enough in stage3 that this can go forward.
