I found the cause for the bootstrap failure. Normally I pass "-mpa-risc-2-0" to the boostrap compiler. This produces PA-RISC2.0 optimized executables. As you can see: file gcc gcc: PA-RISC2.0 shared executable dynamically linked -not stripped This option prevents a successful bootstrap of ada in this case. I wonder why.
