Not, this LANG=C workaround is to the different problem
with Maxima describe and it has absolutely nothing
to do with GCL. BTW, msys/mingw don't have
any locale. So building gcl/Maxima in mingw is always
in LANG=C. Something has changed between 2.6.7 and
2.8.6 which broke Maxima- GCL communication on
Windows. I'll check what is going on on Linux
this weekend.
