I compiled it myself using the patch from the message from Robert Brown

Takes a while and there are a few compiler messages.
(Why is `system
` internal? From the patch, it appears as if it used to external?)
There’s some additional information in that thread too. The testsuite
doesn’t finish, but Robert Brown says it works. I haven’t really tried
gcl+asdf for anything yet.
assuming this will enable quicklisp as well?
That I don’t know, but I’m pretty sure quicklisp uses a really old
version of asdf, so that might not with this new version of gcl. And
quicklisp doesn’t want to update. (I don’t know why.) I also don’t know
if quicklisp would work if you loaded up a new version of asdf before
running quicklisp. I could try that though since cmucl comes with a
version of asdf that’s newer than quicklisp’s version.
