Perhaps this is better put as a formal bug report. I noted just a little while ago that when in split view with the same file in each view that trying to paste into the bottom view would paste the text from where I copied it in the top view even though the cursor was clearly active in the bottom view. I had enabled the split view plugin without restarting Geany, if that makes a difference.
