I'm using Gears with Google Chrome (latest version 3.0.195.27 as of this posting) for offline mode in Gmail. If my computer goes to sleep while a Gmail window is open, upon awakening Chrome reports that the Gears plugin has crashed. This is 100% repeatable for me.
I'm on Win7 build 7100.
