You force Google Software Update down our disheartened throats as a background daemon that checks for and installs updates to Google software with no user intervention and no option for disabling it.
Google, do the right thing and don't be evil. Make the update process transparent and optional in the Gears settings ASAP. Out of all the apps I have running on my Mac, Gears is the only one running rogue like this for updates. I just had it interfere with a recent Safari update too and, of course, I had no option to disable it except with hacks (see links below). I'm not alone in my extreme aggravation.
