[gears-users] How to disable automatic update?

Hi,

I get the same message every single day:

"Google Gears" could not be installed because it is not compatible
with your GNU IceCat build type (Linux_x86-gcc3). Please contact the
author of this item about the problem.

I get the same with Firefox on Linux daily.

Could somebody help me to disable the damn thing, please?
