Don't worry, if you upgrade to Snow Leopard, Gears will fail altogether. It still doesn't support Snow Leopard, and it's not supporting Firefox 3.6 on Win or Mac either. You might want to skip Gears or switch to Chrome, IE, or a pre-3.6 install of Firefox on a Windows machine.
