yah....I drill them near the top on the sides. I dont drill the top as I
stack them

the holes are near the top out of their reach. I dont stack egg crate very
high. I also stand up egg crate, well half crates. I like them low. I stand
them rather than lay them. Laying the crate down flat causes too much build
up of moisture.

sure....move slow , deliberate and carefully. You can pick out one at a
time with forceps or use paper towel tubes and shake a batch directly into
a container. I use 32 ounce deli cups. the pick them out wth forceps one at
a time for serving.
