I just cracked open 2 ocelot gecko (P. picta) eggs that were 70 days old. One of the eggs looked like it had been hard boiled inside and smelled. The white stuff in the egg had a consistency of jelly. In fact, after the shell broke, the insides maintained the round shape. The other egg had nothing but what looked like a red bean inside. Both eggs were from the same clutch and incubated in the same container. (I don't have pictures yet because I'm still using the old fashioned cameras where you have to get the film developed.) Any idea what could have caused this? I got 2 new eggs today and another gecko that is gravid.
