I just collected these eggs from my Phelsuma robertmertensi breeding
group - I thought they were a good study in contrast what stages the
eggs are in. The clutches of eggs on the top left and the bottom right
are showing "blue" which means they are going to hatch soon. The embryos
at this stage have pretty much eaten all the egg's nutrients and are
taking up just about all of the egg, thus the dark coloration. The top
right clutch is showing a nice pink red coloration which usually means
they are fertile and in an earlier developmental stage. The clutch on
the bottom left is showing yellow which usually means not fertile. I was
prompted to collect these this pm as I found a hatchling wandering
amongs the adults! I did not find the other egg or clutchmate - I may if
I tear their set-up apart tomorrow.
