I am not sure about redwood shavings, but it would not surprise me if they
were toxic. Cedar shavings are toxic to reptiles. I have even seen some
reptiles have problems with pine. The clinic I work at does not recommend
the use of shavings as bedding for any animal. Animals can have problems
with the aeromatic oils in the wood and they can also ingest them.
