Hi Elizabeth -

Thanks for the gecko journal recommendations. However, we got a snake and are hoping to branch out to other lizards at some point in the future, so any recommendations for general reptile magazines? There are a few and I don't know if one is better than another.

Anyway, I just got my first gecko about 6 months ago, and I now have 13 - I've gone a little crazy about them, but they are the coolest creatures! I have 4 day geckos - 2 P.m. grandis, a P.q. quadriocellatta, and a P.l. laticauda. I have 5 leopards and 4 R. ciliatus. I think it's about time to join the GGA, eh? I do have a few books - the Rhacodactylus book by de Vosjoli et al, Day Geckos in Captivity by Leann & Greg Christenson, and The Leopard Geckp Manual by de Vosjoli et al. Any other suggestions?

- Thanks,
Dana

Hi Dana---

Congratulations and welcome to GGA's listserve :-] First off you have come to the right place. As a starter I'd recommend Chit Chat, GGA's newsletter and Gekko, the GGA journal. Back copies of most of the journals are available for $7.50 if you are a member or $10 if you haven't joined yet. Some of the back newsletters are no doubt available as well.

What type of geckos do you have? Often there are specific books written just for specific geckos and some general books as well. For a great photographic introduction to many, many geckos be sure to check out the photos on the GGA web site: www.gekkota.com.

(Please forgive me for not snipping this post. When I post via the AOL web site it appears that I'm not given that option.)
