Hi Julie -

Yes, my geckos really like the Herpnutrition products, so I'm a bit bummed that it's gone, but it's all understandable.

Thanks for the advice, I have been using the ICB for my leopard geckos, but I have never used it for the other species that I keep. Do you use it with your Phelsuma? I thought it was too low in D3 for them??

Maybe so, they (Phelsuma) seem to be producing fine though. I also tend to give them different supplements occasionally, ran out of the european stuff I had for them a few months back. I give the ICB to all my other geckos.

None of my animals seem to like the T-Rex species specific foods (not one of my crested or gargoyle geckos have ever liked the stuff)... perhaps I just do a bad job of mixing the food up with water; however, using these foods as supplements is a good idea (just as long as I can get them to eat it!

As long as you go 2:1 water to food that seems to work. I feed Leachie food to all my Rhacs, freeze it up also. They all take it, I have R. ariculatus, R. leachianus, R. ciliatus, R. sarasinorum. As for the Phelsuma you need to add fruit, especially for the Mauritius guys like P. guimbeaui, P. ornata and P. cepediana. They have VERY sweet tooths!

On a side note, I am happy that my very first breeding project with my two pairs of crested geckos has been successful - several clutches of eggs and healthy babies. I had to move this summer, so I put off other breeding projects with my leos and giant days.

Congrats on your projects! Best luck with next season.

Julie B.

Thanks again,
Dana

Hi Dana,

I have been buying T-Rex Insect Loading Formula and like that very much for my feeder bugs. I also use their Insect Cricket Balancer on everyone now, it seems to be a great generic supplement for geckos. Their foods for the specific geckos work well too although I use them as a supplement and not as a replacement. My Gran Terre Leachies do not seem to want crickets anymore after they started on the food, I can entice them to eat supers, wax and tomato worms though! :) I don't think it will be hard to find calcium carbonate (non-sea critter derived) once I run out.

Gotta say I am sorry to see Herpnutrition go!

Hi All -

Since Herpnutrition.com stopped making & selling vitamin supplements, I am wondering if anyone knows where to buy any similar products, or is there absolutely nothing out there like them? I have a few more months supply of the vitamin dusts that I bought last year, but am looking ahead to when I run out of them.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thank you,
Dana
