I'm fairly new to geckos myself, I've had a leopard gecko for about 8 months now. For the first couple of months that I had my gecko, she would eat loads of crickets and meal worms. I couldn't believe how much she ate! All of a sudden she seemed to stop eating like she had never been fed and has been content to eat everyother day or so... and she'll only have a couple of large meal worms or a cricket. As far as I can tell, she's very healthy. She gets her vitamins, exercises, and she sheds without a problem. My gecko likes to try and climb the walls too, and will climb right out of the enclosure if I put my arm in. I think it's cause they are very curious. My gecko has developed quite the character since I brought her home. The more plants and rocks and hiding spots and things to climb I put in, it seems she develops more behaviours. She's quite at home now and comfortable. She loves to come out and explore what's going on in the rest of the room. The coffee table seems to be one of her favorite places for adventure, and of course it's the best seat in the house for a gecko who loves to watch tv! Sometimes she'll look at me then at the tv, and then go stand on the remote as if she's asking me to turn it on. I think she enjoys the movement of the picture or something! Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I wouldn't worry about your gecko at this point. If she's eating, and getting her vitamins she should be ok. Since it sounds like your gecko has lots of character... Enjoy it! Let her explore around some of the safer places just outside her cage. All the best, Sarah We have a leopard gecko that we have had for about 3 months now. We are new to geckos although I have read several books on their care. We have been enjoying her tremendously. I am not sure how old she is now-she seems to have lost most of her juvenile bands. She normally is a huge eater 8-10 meduim crickets a day plus a few meal worms. All of the sudden her appetite changed and she only eats maybe 2 crickets every other day. She seems okay other wise. Her stools though decreased seem normal looking. I don't see any parasites on her. The other thing she is doing that is new is she tries to climb the glass walls and her house. Or if you put your hand in she instantly will climb up your arm. These are all new behaviors for her. I asked at the pet store if this is normal and they said maybe she was ready to breed and this was part of her changing behavior. Is this normal? I know her appetite should decrease as she gets older but this was very sudden. How concerned should I be? Lynn
