Well, copying libiberty and include from gcc would give you the whole
portability library in one fell swoop, that might be useful, once it's
integrated.  But I originally meant to just copy that one function.

Libiberty isn't something that's normally installed on linux systems,
and certainly not on other platforms.  I think NetBSD is the only one
that's every installed it as a system library.
