I'm not really all that familiar with PCB design tools, but I know
that there have been complaints about Veribest, which they use now.
The first complaint is cost, but I may recollect some issues with bugs
that the vendor was unresponsive to.  If they knew that gEDA would do
everything they needed, and bug-fixes were forthcoming, I'm sure
they'd be very open to switching.  While there is the natural tendency
to stick to the tools you know (fear of the unknown), they have no
particular attachment to commercial products.

Part of my motivation behind posting about this on this list and OGML,
besides the greater likelihood of finding an excellent engineer, is to
increase the use of Free Software tools in the hardware development
process, one company at a time.  If the tools can meet the needs of
Tech Source, then they can meet the needs of Traversal and hence the
OGP and the whole Free Hardware Design community.
